Hamish update

When I let Hamish’s person know about this guest post she immediately sent me an update and some photos:

We’re both doing well, although Hamish did have to have surgery back in March. His habit of licking anything and everything got him into trouble – over time he ended up with bits and pieces of toys, blankets, rugs, his own hair and apparently some of mine, in his stomach that formed into a ball and blocked anything from moving through from his stomach to his intestines. But the surgery went really well, he charmed everyone at the vet’s office (naturally), and was back to normal within a few days. I did some extreme cat proofing and got rid of all his soft toys, so hopefully it was a one time thing.
Other than that there’s nothing too exciting to report. We spent Easter at my sister’s place […] and Hamish got to meet his cat cousin Houdini. Hamish wanted to be best friends. Houdini … not so much, but he was pretty tolerant for a 9 year old who’s been an only cat for the past 6 years, (Hamish did get smacked in the head a couple times but he deserved it), and by the last day they were even playing a bit.

“… smacked in the head …” made me laugh out loud. Exactly what Murphy used to do to him.
