The weekend was a LOT of work but so very worth it!
I disrupted Raksha and Baloo in order to clean the foster room and replace the floor. I made myself take my time and I did a much better installation than the last time — I hope. And a new colour:
I admit, it’s a little bright. But that just facilitates taking pictures of all the black fosters I’ve been getting! It’ll show the dirt more, too, but maybe that’ll make me clean better. ๐
It’s such a lot of work to clear the room, clean everything, rip up the old floor, wash the cement underneath, let it dry, install the new floor, put everything back. I even put my new computer back in. With the clean room, and fosters who need more socialization, it was time.
When everything was set up, I moved Ace in with the girls. It’s a little early (his quarantine isn’t quite done) but already it’s paid off! I suspected that they’d all be good for each other and they got along fine. Within hours I went in and Baloo didn’t run away. I don’t know if Ace made her realize I wasn’t so scary, or if he made her more brave, or if he just exhausted her with playing. ๐
Later, when I went in, after watching Ace run to greet me, not only did she not run away, she actually came out in the open. Not to greet me but I still count it as progress so we had a nice game of feathers-on-a-stick. Well, shiny streamer-thingys-on-a-stick, but close enough.
Ace also loves that he has windows now especially the ones that look into the condo so he can see Murphy and Jonesy.
After moving Ace, I cleaned the bathroom and moved Casey and Ethan in there. I’ll have to be really careful to work on their socialization; the crate in the living room was really good for that. But they’ve already come a long way and Ethan even purred when I was snuggling him the other night! I’ve left the [clean] crate set up and may put them in there for part of each evening next week.
A lot of work but the entire condo smells (and feels) so much better! And I think all the felines — resident cats included — are happier.
(I even managed to submit Raksha and Baloo (both overdue!) to the website!)
Wow, sounds like you were busy, busy, busy this weekend! I don’t know how you do it! Makes me exhausted just reading about it. ๐

It’s pretty busy now, but little or no social life helps! ๐ Besides it was too humid to do anything but stay inside with the air-conditioning turned up high.

It’s growing on me (pun intended). It helps that green (almost any green) is my favourite colour.
