Highs and Lows

I was so excited — Lucky had a major breakthrough last night. He actually came to me for pets!! I was lying on the couch. Usually he would go around the coffee table but last night he walked between the coffee table and the couch, letting me stroke him as he went by. Then he turned around and came back!! So amazing.

However …

Apparently with confidence comes … something. Later in the evening, all of a sudden, an horrific fight broke out in the bedroom! 😦  As I came running Jonesy flew past me but Lucky and Murphy were going at it. I got them separated. Jonesy hid and Lucky and Murphy circled like prize fighters sizing each other up. (In the middle of all this Manny came prancing out, tail puffed, moving from one to the other.) I got Murphy locked in the bathroom and eventually got Lucky into the foster room. He was VERY upset.

I think what happened was that Jonesy took offense at something and overreacted. Which, as always, brought Murphy on the run and it just escalated. When I finally got to Jonesy, he had some Lucky fur under one claw. 😦

I left Lucky in the foster room overnight. Everyone seemed all smiles this morning. Murphy was sniffing under the door, Manny was playing with Lucky under the door. Jonesy was ignoring everyone.  Embarrassed, I hope! I left Lucky locked up for the day. I want to be there when everyone can mix again. I hope it’s a one-off, otherwise, Lucky will find himself on the way to a store. (Which I may do anyway if he’s feeling so much braver.)
