What time is it?

Bowl-a-thon time!!! Yes, it’s that time of year again. We had a scary few weeks after our venue of the past three years closed down leaving only three bowling alleys in the entire city that fit our needs (size, on main transit lines). But we prevailed and we’re all set. And our goals are even loftier this year. We’re hoping for at least $35,000.

Once again I’m doing the ears and tails and the loot bags.

I shamelessly appealed to my Foster Homes for participation and help. So far, none have signed up, but a few very generously offered to help. With extra help, I decided to take on an extra chore; I’m cross-stitching 100+ bookmarks for the loot bags. I had a bit of panic but recently took stock and I have over 100 tails cut out and over 50 bookmarks done. Not bad. I also ordered the catnip. Someone else is cutting out and making all the ears. I still have to find enough headbands and then all the ears need to be glued on the bands. We’ll get there. We’ve got the tail sewing party date picked and my amazing sewing sisters are booked to come. I’m hoping I’ll be able to get the kids again for loot bag packing but if not, I think I have enough people willing to help.

The early bird deadline (to be entered in a draw to win the early bird prize!) is March 13th. So come on, sign up, have a great afternoon and raise money for cats!

I’ve also set up a fundraising page again as part of the committee team. If you’re able — and no amount is too small — I and all the foster cats/kittens to come appreciate it!

Hi Heather, sorry, it doesn’t look like they are doing community service this year. But, if you need me to wrangle up a few eager cat loving participants from our group of friends I am sure we can come in before the bowl-a-thon and help with filling lopt bags. Let me know!
