Introducing …

Another one who arrived already named. 😦 He was part of the last big group from Quebec. He’s right at the beginning of this video:

He’s had a rough time: over-crowded shelter, long truck ride, overnight at the Feral Recovery Centre, time at a clinic, and into a store where he was VERY unhappy. I’m not surprised and that’s why he came to me. He’s been here over a week and I rarely see him out from under the desk.

He’s eating and using the litter box just fine. And I can lure him out from under the desk with treats now. But he still runs and hides first if I go in the room. Thank goodness he doesn’t have to have any meds! He howls quite a bit — especially at night — and sometimes scratches as if he’s trying to get out of the room. But when I leave the door open (if I’m here to supervise) he never comes out. The others all rush in and kind of freak him out — Kabaka and the kittens growl at him.

Murphy was so desperate for sunshine (aren’t we all???) that he went in and napped all afternoon with him.

Fudge desperately wants to make friends with the other cats and NONE of them are cooperating. I think the girls would get there but I’m nervous about letting him out at night (when he’d be more likely to explore). Murphy’s being such a jerk to Kabaka that I don’t want to stress everyone any further. Better he wait and be more keen to get out than to come out and get scared by a bully.

About Adventures in Cat Fostering

I am a cat fosterer for Toronto Cat Rescue. I also have two cats of my own, Jonesy, the black and white, and Murphy, the brown tabby, in the photo. Both were adopted from Toronto Cat Rescue.

  1. Sounds like he’s in good hands with you. Hope the other cats will reconsider being friends.
