The kittens

The kittens seem to be responding really well to the meds! It’s hard to tell because they were active and happy before. But litter box evidence shows a dramatic improvement. I managed some pictures  on their last night of the really awful stuff:

Polly gets the “not bad” meds. (Notice the two eyes on the far right!)

Polly and the really nasty meds.

She’s really so sweet. When Molly gets hers, she just wants to run away. With Polly, she turns to climb up me for cuddles — which I don’t allow. Look at her!

Prepping Molly.

img_6062Good news for health, bad news for socialization. The medicine really tastes so terrible that Molly runs when she sees me coming. 😦  I’m trying to make a concerted effort to go in and play at non-medicine times but it’s tough when you’re feeling like crap. Polly, of course, doesn’t care. I’m back to my theory that the happy-go-lucky ones just aren’t very bright. 😉 Lovable and sweet in spades but not very smart. Unfortunately, the smart ones figure out and recognize all the tricks. Even going in to play, it takes a few minutes before Molly would take the bait and play with the wand toy. I try to include petting and holding (with no nasty medicine side effects) in these sessions but she never did like that much.

Poor kittens, that medicine must taste awful. Glad to hear they’re feeling better though!

Twee is more than a couple of kibble shy of a bag and she is as sweet as can be 🙂 so your theory holds some water 😀

those poor kittens.. have you tried offering something super yummy after medicine time? some meat baby food, some freeze dried meat, or even some real live dead shrimps 🙂

    • They get their canned food, which they LOVE. And treats. That was their last dose of the really nasty stuff and this morning was their last dose of the other stuff. And we have solid, normal poop in the litter box. Yay! (Nobody here likes the freeze-dried treats, including the kittens. I’ve tried chicken, shrimp, fish. No luck.)
