Cage rest

Sounds easy, right? NOT!

I brought a crate home from the vet’s. It was one another TCR volunteer had left there and it was in the way. The vet thought it would be big enough. When I got home I had second thoughts but set it up anyway. Well, placed it. It no longer collapses and is held together with ties. One door is tied shut and the other doesn’t work properly. And it was too small. They were both freaking out and had tipped over their litter, food and water within five minutes! So I went and got Bella’s crate. It has room for a proper (if small) litter box, their dishes and enough room for them to snuggle and wrestle. They can use it until Sunday when Bella’s coming here to stay for a week. On Sunday I’ll get one for the kittens (or Bella) from the Volunteer Centre.

I tried letting Polly out for a bit but Molly gets very upset. I think until Molly finishes her pain meds they’ll just stay in there — except for cuddle time. As I write, they’re sleeping through their evening “zoomies”; I guess it was a tiring day!

This is like having to restrain a toddler with a fracture. Not an easy task! They look comfortable in Bella’s cage. Good thing they have each other.
