Lows and Highs

Jellybean has gone to the Rainbow Bridge. He took a sudden turn for the worse and, from the sound of it, his liver was failing. They made the decision to end his suffering. I am confident we did what we could for him; the combined knowledge and experience of the people looking out for him is astounding. I’m glad he was at the Volunteer Centre; every single person who goes in or out of there loves cats and the caretakers are encouraged to cuddle their charges. His last days were filled with love and he is mourned by many — all of whom remark on how sweet he was. Jellybean was not a fighter — ever. With his mild, accepting-of-anything personality, I’m sure he’s grateful for the release.

But there is no time to dwell on loss. These little peanuts were delivered the other night!

About eight weeks old. One is sleek and short-haired. The other is plump and medium- haired. From a hoarding situation, I think. They may or may not be full sisters. 😦 They came named: Molly and Polly, but I still don’t know which is which! I’m trying to find out but if I can’t I’ll just decide.

And, in a new-for-me-situation, they have cat lice. 😦  I’m not worried (the resident cats are due for their check up next month and I’ll just make sure the vet has an extra good look at their fur) but it means the kittens can’t come out and play — which they VERY much want to. On the other hand, it means I get to keep them longer than usual. Their last treatment isn’t until the end of December!!

About Adventures in Cat Fostering

I am a cat fosterer for Toronto Cat Rescue. I also have cats of my own, Jonesy, the black and white, and Murphy, the brown tabby, are in the photo. Little Blue was a foster kitten I kept. All were adopted from Toronto Cat Rescue.
