A trip in three parts — Part 3

On Thursday morning I headed off to get ready for my conference.

The hotel and the conference center were right downtown (I walked through the Olympic Park to and from the conference). Here’s a “panorama” of the view from my room:

I was on the 37th floor! I don’t think I’ve ever stayed that high up before. The elevator, running up the building-high atrium, was glass. And it made my ears pop!

Set up day was Thursday with the Exhibit hall/trade show at the Georgia World Congress Center being open for business on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So the rest of my time in Atlanta was workworkwork.

I did manage a swim in the hotel pool on Friday night. But hotel pools are designed for play, not laps, and this one was especially warm!

As an aside, please keep Georgia, and the other states experiencing terrible forest fires, in your thoughts.

Smoke haze from the Georgia forest fires. 😦

It shows in all the photos, but somehow a bit better in this one. I spotted the fires from the air as we arrived but later they were all over the news. On a couple of days we could smell them. Not as bad as the ones in South Carolina, but still …

About Adventures in Cat Fostering

I am a cat fosterer for Toronto Cat Rescue. I also have cats of my own, Jonesy, the black and white, and Murphy, the brown tabby, are in the photo. Little Blue was a foster kitten I kept. All were adopted from Toronto Cat Rescue.
