Adoption! Or not.

I got a call on Friday night that someone was interested in Rousette! They wanted a companion to another Quebec kitty they just adopted. We arranged a meet and greet.

The VERY NICE Kathy arrived on Sunday afternoon and Rousette took one look at her and fled! It’s the first time I’ve seen that with a cat who’s quite comfortable with me. She hasn’t met many people since she arrived here but she hasn’t run from those she did — and not canine Bella, either.

Diego on the other hand was a complete attention hog and threw himself at Kathy. Climbed right up and snuggled in. Guess who she’s sold on? I told her he wouldn’t be ready for another month, at least, but she’s really going to try and adopt him. She’s willing to take on his dental problems, so it should be a win-win for everyone. I just have no idea what our policy in this case might be. But I suspect she’ll wait for him, no matter what.img_5705r

After she left, Rousette snuggled with me on the couch — long enough that I eventually had to disturb her to get up. I think she’s just a little overwhelmed with all the other cats and all the change she’s gone through. I’m going to have to make a real effort with her so hopefully she doesn’t flee from the next potential adopter!
