Cookie was a teenage mom and she’s TINY — like one-third the size of Jellybean! She and her sister had their litters — and looked after them together — at another foster home. The kittens are all gone now and it’s time for Cookie to find her forever home. She needs a pseudo-quarantine for a couple of weeks. There was giardia in her former foster home, so I need to keep an eye on her for signs (bloating, diarrhea). But if all goes well, she’ll be ready for an adoption event that’s coming up soon.
While Cookie does, technically, put me over TCR’s “two cage” limit, there are extenuating circumstances — as always. 😉 Her former foster home is one of our most experienced and one of those who always steps up; even when maybe she shouldn’t*. So when the call went out that this particular foster was overwhelmed, I was happy to help. I know how she feels and I was there recently. Besides, Cookie is a pretty, well-adjusted cat. She’ll go quickly.
*We were having a visit and a chat when she brought Cookie over. I was telling her about one of the Volunteer Centre cats and her first reaction was “Maybe I should take her”!! I nipped that in the bud.
