One of those days

I got home last night and Pete had got into the “green” bin and pulled out the chicken bones from the chicken I cooked him last night! Not exactly gratitude. I cleaned up chicken bones and vomit (maybe from Pete, maybe from Jonesy). I think he’s ok but I’ve let my foster coordinator know and I’ll keep an eye on him. He’s really bad for getting into things. I’m not used to this; the resident cats have absolutely no interest in people food.

Then I went into the kitten room and found my x-acto knife blade protector/cover lying on the floor!!!! A panicked search for the actual knife and a thorough examination of three kittens followed. It’s all good. But the knife (and its cover) are now in a drawer. (Not in the pencil pot that had been knocked over.)

I turned around and someone else (Murphy or Jonesy) had vomited! I cleaned it up.

THEN I went past the bathroom and saw this:

Later, I noticed the cat-bed-cushion on the loveseat moving!

IMG_5017She was completely hidden underneath it but after a bit I got this shot.

And later little Miss Copycat got in the crate action:

She’s quite hard to see on the spotted blanket when there isn’t a camera flash going of. (You can see the access points in the background.)

There’s a lot going on this week and I’ve already been rushing around like a maniac, with lots more to come. So the funny and the cute are a nice antidote to rushing and worry (about chicken bones and not eating).

About Adventures in Cat Fostering

I am a cat fosterer for Toronto Cat Rescue. I also have cats of my own, Jonesy, the black and white, and Murphy, the brown tabby, are in the photo. Little Blue was a foster kitten I kept. All were adopted from Toronto Cat Rescue.

food from the bin always wins with food from the bowl (I love the photos so much I can’t focus on reading the post properly, that’s my second attempt!)

woh, you do have your hands full!

(and if it makes you feel any better, I had to do an x-acto knife search once too.

    • Fortunately, now that I’ve gone vegetarian, the bones are rarity. Because I’d JUST cooked them for him the night before I could do a “count”. Pretty sure they’re all there. But seriously, he won’t eat all the lovely things I’ve been preparing and instead fishes around in the disgusting meat and veggie scrap bin for bones? Jerk.
