Weekend bits and pieces

The kittens had a visitor on Friday night; one of my neighbours. She hasn’t seen them since they still had their eyes closed and it was great to see how they are with strangers. All but Maple (who was sleeping) came out to play and climb on her. They all seemed just fine with her.

Kitten pile!

Percy had a big breakthrough! He came up on the couch with me for pets. I tried to brush him but he wouldn’t go for it. Baby steps. He’s definitely seeking more attention and is comfortable enough to get picky about his food! Apparently, he doesn’t like the same thing all the time.

Speaking of couches:

IMG_4849The kittens are very active and seem healthy; the Wee ones are doing great. Cedar has lost weight so I did a couple of private feedings. Turns out she doesn’t like the food they’re all eating! Fortunately I had some other kitten food tucked away in the cupboard. She loves it! So we’ll keep up the private feedings for a while. She’s a great big sister though:

IMG_4842Aspen continues to be a challenge escaping every chance she gets and bee-lining for under the couch. I’ve taken to tying the door when I’m inside with them and keep a rolled up towel stuffed under the edge of the couch. We’ll be fine until she figures out there are two more edges! πŸ˜‰

Just look at that self-satisfied smile!

Hi! I love your blog. Just wanted to pass on an idea that may work for you. I use a couple pool noodles under my sofa as a buffer for cat toys. It isn’t foolproof but it may be a deterrent. Or at least give you a chance to catch up πŸ˜‰
