Group update

I had a paragraph all prepared on the progress Percy has been making showing more confidence. But … Percy has been adopted!!!!!! Percy, the 10-year-old with kidney disease! The lovely Kim and Anthony came, met, fell in love with the sweet boy. They even got to pet him and hear him purr. He’s not leaving until the end of the month. Kim and Anthony have a vacation planned and we all agreed that less transition and upheaval is best for this timid boy.

Excuse me?

I did a big clean of the kitten room. Put all the kittens in a carrier. When I brought them back in they behaved like it was a whole new room! Cautious emergence from the crate and careful walking around sniffing everything. BREAKING NEWS: my foster coordinator asked for an update on their “stats”. I hadn’t done a sex check in a while and it looks like Birch might be a boy!! I thought he was at birth, but then changed my mind. When I checked them all again my vote swung back to “boy”.Β  I did say it’s not 100% until the vet confirms. πŸ˜‰ Makes it extra sweet how attentive he is to the Wee ones.

Magnolia and Cherry are eating real food and loving it! At first I had to warm it up and help them but now they dig in with the rest. Maybe we’ll have a growth spurt now.

Cherry, kind of getting the hang of real food.

It’s absolutely confirmed. Oprah hates dogs. 😦  My friend Anne came over with her sweet — enthusiastic — yearling, Scout. Oprah attacked the door, attacked me, freaked out the kittens. I don’t think it’s maternal aggression; she’s fine with all the male cats now. Even Percy can stare in the room or walk past her uneventfully. Even if it was, I wouldn’t want to take the chance. She’s not about to run and hide — she goes on the offensive. So “no dogs” it is on her bio!

About Adventures in Cat Fostering

I am a cat fosterer for Toronto Cat Rescue. I also have cats of my own, Jonesy, the black and white, and Murphy, the brown tabby, are in the photo. Little Blue was a foster kitten I kept. All were adopted from Toronto Cat Rescue.
