Blossoming

Regine and Shakira are such lovely cats! They are the perfect house guests. 😉

Shakira has been the tiniest bit standoffish; she likes attention but doesn’t seek it out. The other night I was working at the computer when she jumped up, fascinated with the screen and the moving cursor. I started petting her and she wouldn’t let it stop! I’d put her back down on the floor and she’d jump right up again, demanding more attention. I double-checked to see if it was Regine, but no, it was Shakira all right!

Regine is such a mom! The other day we were all having and extremely lazy day. Ella was curled up on the couch, Shakira on the love seat. Regine spent the entire afternoon going from one to the other. She’d curl up for a while with Ella, then get up and go over for a wash and a nap with Shakira. It was one of the loveliest cat behaviours I’ve ever seen!

The only “bad” thing about them is that they’re too playful. I’ll try to play with Ella and they’re immediately there, taking over the game; hogging the feathers-on-a-stick or stealing the mouse/ball/spring. At least they let her play with them — they have some amazing games of chase — but she has a hard time keeping up. That’s why I try for some one-on-one with her.
