Amazing news!

Talk about a roller coaster! Despite the vomit and the pee, the people who came to see Claire ARE going to adopt her. I had received an email from them confirming that while the woman really liked her, the man was disappointed in her aloofness. I figured that was it. But lo! and behold! I got a delightful email saying they want her!! But not for a couple of weeks. They want to make sure things are calm and settled when they take her.

I will be holding my breath until she actually leaves. I’ve had more timid cats, but I think Claire is the only one I haven’t been able hold or handle at will. She certainly knows her own mind!IMG_3498

She can’t possibly know, but she’s been acting like she does. Or at least knows something’s up. Last night she was super friendly, spending a lot of time on the couch with me, asking to be petted. And she was super playful, leaping and dancing after the laser pointer light. This morning she was very bossy about breakfast — “I don’t waaaaannt that kibble. I waaaaannt the gooooood kibble.” And she had a rousing game of chase with Murphy. She’s usually such a quiet, background presence. Doesn’t mean I won’t miss her.
