Escape!

So there I was, minding my own business, watching TV, when something in the corner of my vision caught my attention. Hamish! — wandering into the living room, Jonesy and Murphy watching in horror! (Hamish is now the first to rush the door when it opens; I suspect because of his extra feedings which happen outside the room.)

I jumped up, scooped him up, found the den door open (I’d forgotten to slide the heavy box back) and returned him to the den while doing a quick head count n– 1-2-3-4-5-6. Of course Arabelle, who’s been desperate to escape, was not there. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned how much alike she and Claire are. Both are small tabbies with white chests and paws. Arabelle has more white on her face, but that’s the only obvious difference. A quick look around found Arabelle near the living room feeding station. I scooped her up and cut short her adventure. Given her growling and attacking under the den door, I’m surprised there weren’t any fireworks. But then, I think everyone — human and feline — was surprised by the whole thing!
