Adjusting

Clearly, Arthur is having trouble settling in …

He was asleep like this.

He was asleep like this — complete with foot up on the arm.

He really has come so far since he first got here. Not that he was ever shy or nervous. But he was very reserved. After two weeks, it was like a switch was turned; he was playful and affectionate.

I think he’d like to be friends with everyone but Jonesy insists on being a jerk. He’s curious about Claire, too, though she’s not the most receptive either. Curious to see what happens when the kittens leave.

Speaking of which … both were bouncing around this morning. I think Bree is still not quite 100% but soooooo much better. I have the door blocked with my cardboard shield and only one little window pane is clear. Claire was sitting in it, keeping a watchful eye. Bree came up to look out and Claire swatted her sideways away from the window! Mean but very funny to watch. That Claire; she’s ready to rip my eyes out when I open the door but when she sees me shooing the kittens back in the room I’m her new best friend. 😉

Bree’s potential adopter has not contacted me. 😦  I’m not worried; I’m sure she’ll have a home before the end of the weekend, but it looks like I might have to take her to the store after all.
