A BIG Thank You!

The Bowl-a-thon is done!

I just wanted to take a minute and thank all the people who helped me out. I know I pushed, but something worked; we had 78 registered bowlers in 16 bowling lanes — way up from last year! I had some donations from people and the catnip pillows sold like hot-cakes! I also sold quite a few of the cat-grass seed packs and a few of the fleece blankets. TCR sold a lot of t-shirts and some other merchandise they had. We raised about $12,000  (with donations still coming in and not including the merchandise).

Even though I was “working” I got to be closer to the action this year and could see how much fun people were having. Our awesome videographer, Kathy, was there so there should be some great promo videos coming. And there were two still photographers as well, Emma and I didn’t catch the other woman’s name. So lots of great photos to come. And we had some kids bowling (and wandering around) which was great.

Thanks to Kelly and Sharon and Joanna for the “tail party” to make the catnip tails that are given to every participant and every volunteer and are a huge hit.

Thanks to Kelly for sewing up all the catnip pillows that sold out.

Thanks to Liz, Elaine, Sandra, and Brigitte for the generous donations. I know they were technically for the kittens, but this way they go to help with their spays and neuters! (And you know how I feel about that!)

And to Brigitte for driving (again) me, the ears & tails, the merchandise for sale, and most of the prizes!! It wouldn’t have been much of an event without all that!

I am a cat fosterer for Toronto Cat Rescue. I also have two cats of my own, Jonesy, the black and white, and Murphy, the brown tabby, in the photo. Both were adopted from Toronto Cat Rescue.
