Cora update

Cora had her follow up visit to the vet. It’s a qualified “all good”.

Generally, the vet was pleased at her big improvement from the last time she was there. The ear infection is all cleared up, though there is still a spot of “something” on her ear drum. So she’s on ear meds for another week to see if we can clear it up. And she still has some minor residual cold symptoms, but they’re clearing up.

Cora_sleepingThe vet is pretty sure there’s something going on behind her ear drum. The most likely explanation is a polyp; possibly fluid. The only way to tell would be expensive tests and her quality of life is good right now. She eats, she plays (oh, does she play!), her motor skills and balance are fine. Any adopter will just have to monitor the ear. Dr. A. seems to think that if it’s a polyp, it will grow, come through the ear drum, (sounds awful, but she says the ear drum grows back!), and then be removed.

For now, she’s a feisty, take-no-crap-from-Archie, little girl. She races full speed around the apartment, usually as the chas-er, rather than the chas-ee. We’ll spend the next few days getting ready for her close-up. Yup, she’s going on TV. The same show that Storm was on: Animal House Calls. Tuesday evening on the local news station.

About Adventures in Cat Fostering

I am a cat fosterer for Toronto Cat Rescue. I also have two cats of my own, Jonesy, the black and white, and Murphy, the brown tabby, in the photo. Both were adopted from Toronto Cat Rescue.
