Here we go again …

Every time I get a cat/kitten adopted out, I say, “Ok, I’m going to take a little break and give the boys a rest.” And after the Author kittens and Caleb, the break was for Storm, too. But my “dealer” is the devil. I made the mistake of responding to an appeal for a serious case; an severely injured young cat facing amputation, needing a safe place for recovery. I knew it would be a while until he was released post-surgery. It turns out he was safely taken, but I was immediately asked, “What about this guy?”:

13 wks, M, DSH, black 1.06 kg, think he is a bit younger – he is a bit timid but is really sweet once handling him:) he has a large open wound the length of his left hind leg – no fractures just this wound – it will hopefully heal but will need daily bandage changes and if doesn’t heal the leg may need amputation down the road

He’s been at a vet clinic for about a week and the last word was his bandage changes were down to every other day. The plan is to pick him up Friday, provided they clear him for foster care, and learn how to change his bandage if necessary .

Another black kitty! At least he still qualifies as a kitten. I’m hoping I’ll be able to bring him to work to help with his socialization. I have plenty of volunteers there! 😉  I’ll post updates (and photos!) as soon as I have them.

About Adventures in Cat Fostering

I am a cat fosterer for Toronto Cat Rescue. I also have two cats of my own, Jonesy, the black and white, and Murphy, the brown tabby, in the photo. Both were adopted from Toronto Cat Rescue.
